La Olimpiada 2012 marca un nuevo récord
La Olimpiada de Ajedrez 2012 en Estambul ha marcado un nuevo récord de participantes. Hasta el 11 de junio, un total de 162 federaciones se han registrado para el evento.
Este es un nuevo récord en la historia de la Olimpiada, que se ha conseguido 76 días antes del comienzo de la competición. En la primer Olimpiada de 1927 hubieron 16 participantes, en la 36ta Olimpiada en 2006 se alcanzó la cifra de 133 países, mientras que en la 39na se llegó a los 145.
